MODULE PURPOSE

To provide participants with the computing skills and literacy required to effectively handling of programs useful in the food processing industry.

 

Learning Strategy:

This program is designed to be competed by self-pace student centred learning.

Students are to follow the procedures and instructions in a sequential manner as layed out in the textbook.

Students are to take advantage of on-line assistance as provided on the course web page at

https://barry-b.tripod.com/computing.html and to contact the lecturer in charge via e-mail at

barry_bw@yahoo.com and students are required to join the WAI Food Technology mailing list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WAI-FoodTechnology/

which will allow them to communicate with other students in the group.

Assessment Method

Satisfactory completion and submission of every second "Self Test" tasks in the relevant chapters of the

Text book. "Microsoft Office Stable "

The edition of  Microsoft Office Stable used should match the version of  Microsoft Office used on the computer used by the students.

i.e “Microsoft Office Stable 2003” is used by students with Microsoft Office XP
